No matter what your gender, as your relationship ages, you are bound to pay less and less attention to your significant other. Attention or the lack thereof, is probably the culprit to more relationship splits than say, infidelity. So let’s discuss about the role attention plays in a relationship, a key factor to win back lost love.

For the men reading this article I’d ask, aside for obvious occasions like birthdays, when was the last time you bought a flower for your girl? How about a phone call just to say “I love you”? That’s right, you were the sweetest boyfriend in the world early on in the relationship, but you’ve become just another guy as the relationship aged.

To be fair, the ladies often fare better than men when it comes to paying attention to their partner. But that may also have something to do with the fact that the ladies are a bit more subtle with their approach. As the relationship progresses and attention spans get shorter, women tend to make more plans by themselves which exclude the boyfriend. Intimacy would be another similar issue, as women have ways to make men feel like they only take part in the relationship for the sex.

The lack of attention or the lack of interest if you may, are detrimental for keeping a healthy relationship as they become the source for many other problems. Relationships require constant attention to make it work like a well oiled machine. Whether you are hoping to stop your breakup or you are working to win back your lost love, you have to learn to pay close attention to your lover.

It isn’t so hard you see, all you really have to do is to go back to being the thoughtful boyfriend or girlfriend you once were, admittedly. You’ve already learned the lesson of “not taking things for granted”, and you’ve learned it the hard way. I urge you to bring about the changes from within, because these changes will have long and profound effect in the relationship you hope to win back.

I have a friend who’s been in a relationship with the same person for the past 7 years and this friend often tells me how his relationship is more meaningful than most others because of the longevity. In my opinion he’s half right, and I say half right because he looks like he’s been married to the same woman for the past 1000 years. They are still together, but they surely don’t look so happy together. I believe that at some point in their relationship they lost the passion.

You have to pay close attention to your partner and keep working on your relationship if you want it to work and you want to be a happy participant in it. You see, the “how long” part means something only if that relationship makes you and your partner happy.

It will take some work on your part to win back your lost love, but if you are sincerely working to make the necessary changes to win your ex back, then you will get your ex to think twice about ending the relationship.
